Position Description

Applicants are invited to apply for the above vacancy within the Group IT Department, based at the Port of Liverpool. Occasional travel will be required.

Role Purpose: To work closely with the Group Operational Systems Manager to provide analytical skills within the IT team.

This role will include the following responsibilities:

-Serve as a liaison between the Business and IT to assist or gather business requirements needed for system modifications, enhancement and implementations
-Provide leadership to team members and peers by collaborating with others; articulating ideas and viewpoints to senior management, peers and others; managing resources; driving the resolution of issues; and holding self and team accountable for results
-Collating and analysing requirements for change to systems and processes, documenting and controlling those changes
-Ensuring any changes adhere to IT Change Control
-Improve systems by studying current practices; designing modifications
-Prepare technical reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends

Required Experience

Applicants interested in this role should ideally possess the following skills and experience:

-Ability to understand business processes and needs and to take part in decision-making discussions on how IT & Business change should be achieved to meet with Strategic objectives
-Proven track record of analysis and requirements gathering skills
-Ability to communicate with all levels of the business, end users, stakeholders, developers and 3rd parties
-Proven track record of following a structured methodology for change
-Planning and working flexibly to defined deadlines
-Software development lifecycle (SDLC) – full lifecycle
-Agile approach to software developments e.g. scrum
-ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis would be advantageous
-Ability to write requirements documents
