Position Description

Applicants are invited to apply for the above vacancy within the Group IT department, based at the Port of Liverpool.

Role Purpose: To monitor and control projects throughout their entire life cycle to deliver the most effective and efficient solution in terms of quality, time and cost.

This role will include the following responsibilities:

-Manage and interface with key stakeholders to manage projects efficiently, ensuring all involved adhere to deadlines
-Adhere to our Safety365 policies with specific responsibility for ensuring the safe working of all staff and promoting a safe place to work without risk
-Develop expertise on operational systems, partnering with internal teams, including external discussions with stakeholders
-Delivery of projects to quality, time and cost in accordance with statutory legislation and mandatory company standards
-Manage the lifecycle of a project through feasibility, approval, completion, commissioning, handover & post project review
-Construct and lead the core project team to ensure effective engagement of all stakeholders in the development and delivery of a project
-Manage change control of projects to ensure business needs are balanced within project constraints
-Use appropriate project monitoring & reporting systems to provide a professional, consistent & effective project management service to both internal customers and key stakeholders

Required Experience

Applicants interested in this role should ideally possess the following skills and experience:

-Significant experience of project management of complex IT systems projects being delivered to aggressive programs
-Proven experience of managing IT projects
-Prince 2 project management experience or equivalent
-Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages including MS Project
-Possess strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and organisation combined with excellent communication skills
-Exposure to Warehouse Management Systems or a similar Terminal Operating System and experience of commercial contracts would be advantageous
-A full valid Driving Licence is essential
